I was looking for a good network monitoring tool this past few weeks. I tried MRTG, Cacti, Bandwidthd and etch. Cacti seems to be one of the best graphing tool I've used and Nagios for alerts and etch.. But if you guys wants it easy way, You can use PRTG Network Monitor. It's very easy to setup and use but runs only in Windows Operating Systems. I suggest you give it a try.. heres the link:
